San Fransisco + 4 Years

Last weekend Daniel and I ventured out to Northern California to see my good friend Ruth get married. Like I mentioned before, this month is always a really busy time for me with work, so we knew we'd only be able to make it a quick weekend trip. Ruth's wedding weekend was also right around the same time as mine and Daniels 4 year anniversary, so we decided to celebrate by spending a day in the city after the wedding!

Daniel had never been to San Fransisco before (except for maybe when he was little), so we tried to squeeze as many things as possible into the one day we had there. And I think we did a pretty good job! We had so much fun and were exhausted by the end of the day.

Ruth's wedding was in Lodi, which is about and hour and a half from SF, so we stayed there on Friday night at one of her now husbands relative's house, along with some of the other bridesmaids/groomsmen. The wedding was so perfect and the venue was GORGEOUS! It was in Tyler's grandma's lakefront backyard. SO pretty. Can't wait to see pictures and their wedding video that Sid actually filmed!

Ruth looked like a goddess

SO fun getting this crew back together

After the wedding on Saturday night we drove back to SF and stayed right by Union Square. Sunday morning we woke up, walked to the nearest cable car stop and took the cable cars to Fishermam's Wharf. The cable cars are so cute and fun! Daniel loved hanging on and standing up on the outside part. We then had brunch at the yummiest restaurant called Hollywood Cafe. SO good and well worth the 30 minute wait standing outside in the sun :)

After we ate we explored Fishermen's Wharf and then rented bikes and rode up to Golden Gate Bridge. We DEFINITELY were not prepared for all of the hills we had to ride up to get there. So cool though and such a pretty view! We ran out of time so we didn't get to walk across, but by the time we got there we were pretty exhausted anyways haha.

After biking we walked to Ghiradelli Square and got ourselves a treat, then rode the cable cars back to China Town and walked through there. We finished the day at the mall back by our hotel which had ALL the best stores, including a 6 story Nordstrom. Then got dinner and headed for the airport. A successful trip to SF in the books for sure. We've been so lucky to be able to travel so much this year, and to two of the most famous cities in the U.S.! NY & SF.

The prettiest fruit bowl I've ever seen! Between this and the fresh squeezed OJ, this place got 5 stars from me!

I love that we make an effort to celebrate our anniversary in a special way each year. It's such an important day and I love looking back on it and celebrating our marriage. I wrote in the card I gave Daniel that this year has been my favorite year yet! Isn't that how it's supposed to be? Love him more and more each year <3

House Update!

This last week has been BUSY to say the least. After our family trip, my family flew back to Utah with us and stayed here for a week. Last weekend we all went up to Paige's in-laws home in bear lake which was so fun! Then my fam went back to Cali and we've finally been trying to get caught up at work.

P.S. Bear Lake REALLY is that blue! <3

We hit a few bumps in the road with our home building process. I won't get in to details, but basically a few things happened that made us second guess the builders and the area where we were building. We started looking in to building with Edge homes instead, and we LOVED the Canyon Hills location up in Lehi. After looking at some of the lots there we realized it was a little out of our price range though. We were kind of not sure what to do at that point, but then I had the idea to just drive through one other Edge community in Orem/Vineyard. We got there and figured out they had ONE lot left with the golf course view and walk out basement that we wanted. One day later and we were under contract on a DIFFERENT house! Luckily we were were able to get out of our other contract because of what happened AND get our full earnest money deposit back :) :) So much craziness up in here but we are so happy and both feel so much better about the switch we made! Now our move in date is pushed back even further to March/April, but we feel great about it. Below is a picture of the view we'll have from our living room. This was taken from the inside of the house right next to our lot. We literally have NO backyard (about 20 feet to be exact), but our yard will be open to the golf coarse which makes it seem a lot bigger.

And here's what our house will look like:

(only picture another house on either side of it, unfortunately. Ha!)

Today we had our first appointment with the architect to make any custom changes we want, and we'll have our design appointment in a couple of weeks! I'm going to do my best to update my blog through the whole process :)
