Road Trips & Family

Well...it's been over a month since my last post. No surprise there. Time flies by so fast these days it's crazy.

Not a lot is new.  Last weekend we road-tripped down to San Diego to watch my brothers play in their high school football game for what might be our last time (hopefully not - they are in the playoffs and if they win their next game they'll have a game over Thanksgiving weekend!). It was a fun (and short) weekend. Sidney brought her boyfriend down so it was fun hanging out with him and giving everyone a chance to get to know him better. They were good friends before Sidney went on her mission, and he was on his mission during the same time! When they got back they started dating and are getting pretty dang serious. Anyways, we spent the weekend at the beach (it was in the 80s & we were stoked since temps have DROPPED here in Utah), making sure to get in all our favorite San Diego food stops (everyone can always count on me to make sure we don't miss out on Round table, Agrusa's, & Peterson's Doughnuts), watching my brothers win their football game, and just hanging with family.

I'm so glad we decided to go down. Daniel and I were thinking about not going, because we were just down there not too long ago when we drove down for the BYU vs UCLA game, and we knew we'd be back down for Thanksgiving, but we are so glad we changed our mind. The 10 hour drive each way was totally worth it. Family is everything and I don't ever want to regret not spending time with the people I love.

Then just this past weekend we made another road-trip to Vegas because my cousin Beau, who plays football at Hawaii had a game there against UNLV.  He just had a new baby and since they live in Hawaii, none of us had gotten to meet him yet. His cute wife came and brought little Jax and he is just the cutest, tiniest thing and my baby fever happened all over again. It was another long drive for only being able to spend less than 24 hours there, but again, so worth it to be able to spend time with family.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I've been giving a lot of thought lately on how grateful I am for my husband, and my awesome family. These are the most important people in my life and I have the most fun when I'm with them. I love how great we all get along, and that my brothers and sisters are honestly my best friends - I love how our family is growing and how each new person adds to the fun!  I can't wait to see what happens in the next few years, and I'm especially excited to welcome my first nephew in to the family in just 2 more months!

And because I love pictures....
We babysat & had a sleepover with two of our favorites - Nelli & Shayn
